    3 Day Assault Pack Plus Gen 2

    I am constantly looking for the best kit bag, work bag, travel bag that I can just fill up, tighten down and go. This assault bag checks all the boxes. I am a fan of Tactical Tailor because their gear is always top notch. From the first time I saw their insignia inscribed on an issued USMC NVG pouch I have used their frames, straps and packs. This is my first day pack, non main pack system I have used from Tactical Tailor and I love it. The side pouches can hold up to a 46-50oz Nalgene or Yeti plastic bottle. The pouches add functional space from front to bottom. Straps are handy, but they also stay out of the way when you don’t need them. The main compartment is what an assault bag should be — OPEN. No interior management, no molle, just a simple pouch for a bladder. Up to you if you want to run a PRC-17F (it is possible to route two antennas, or an antenna and hose simultaneously), medical supplies and a pole less litter, 12 MREs or just dump kit into it and cinch down the straps. Put the mission essential kit like mags, chemlights, battery, optics in the front pockets for easy access. If you’re on the market for an assault pack that’s lightweight and extremely functional this is it.

    Built well. I’m taller at 6-3. The pack is well padded. If the straps are loosened and the waist belt is properly configured, the body of the pack rides a bit low on your back. At the time I ordered mine, I think late May 2026 they had recently relocated to Kellogg Idaho. They had some challenges with shipping originally trying to ship via UPS. Then having to change to US Postal Service. I offered to drive there and pick it up as their new location is only 30 minutes from my home however that’s not how they conduct business. Though the item was in stock, and reportedly boxed and ready to ship it still took three additional weeks for me to receive the product. Part of that is going to be on the US Postal Service. The distance and mileage from their present place of business to my residence is only 40 miles. It took six days for them to process and deliver. Representatives of the company were very polite and professional. I’m hoping they’re able to improve whatever glitch they had with UPS.

Description

The Three Day Plus Assault Pack is built for self-sufficiency during operations lasting 72 hours or more. By expanding on the standard three-day platform with integrated side pockets and additional zippered compartments, this pack provides the extra volume needed to carry enough ammunition, rations, and clothing for multi-day sustainment through varied terrain. It is designed for those who need to stay out longer without returning to a vehicle or base for supplies.

Constructed from lightweight, yet durable, 500 denier Cordura nylon, the pack features a padded bottom to protect contents from impact and includes dual grommets for drainage. To manage the weight of 3,131 cubic inches of gear, the Gen 2 design utilizes a reinforced, padded waist belt and 3/8" air mesh shoulder straps. These features, combined with the air mesh back panels, help distribute heavy weight and maintain airflow to reduce heat buildup against the body.
